GAS (water heater, stove,
oven, furnace, fireplace, etc)

Section 5.
Definitions. In this Act:

▪ Carbon Monoxide Alarm
(detector) must comply with all of requirements by the rules and
regulations of the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
Section 10. Carbon monoxide
detector. (Brief
explanation of this part follows)
▪ This part clearly
states that you must have at least ONE approved carbon monoxide alarm
within 15 feet of each rooms (you, family, guest use for SLEEPING).
IF your house is ATTACHED (connected) to a garage - your house is
REQUIRED to have a Carbon Monoxide Alert.
▪ You CAN purchase a Carbon
Monoxide Alarm that is COMBINED with a Smoke Detecting device in ONE
UNIT.
