Senate Bill 2038 is currently on Governor Rauner’s desk for his signature and veto.  The bill affects social service and CIL funding so we need the Deaf community to contact Rauner and tell him that he needs to sign the bill.

Illinois Legislature has passed Senate Bill 2038 and the bill is currently on Governor Rauner’s desk for his signature or veto.  This bill is important for the Deaf community because many of us use programs and services provided by Center for Independent Living organizations and other social service organizations.  SB2038 provides emergency funding for about 46% of what is owed to many social service providers in 2015-16.

Please contact Governor Rauner to sign the bill at: http://cqrcengage.com/accessliving/app/onestep-write-a-letter?1&engagementId=207913

A token of appreciation goes out to Access Living for creating a webpage for people to contact Governor Rauner.

Thank you Jason Altmann for sharing this information!
