IAD would like to thank Governor JB Pritzker and his administrative team for their commitment to ensuring Deaf and hard of hearing individuals have equal access to information provided during the daily COVID-19 briefings.

Today, the Governor’s office took accessibility to the next level by using a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) along with a hearing certified interpreter team.

Using CDIs as a part of the team is an essential component in bridging the language and cultural gaps as CDIs are native users of ASL.

Stay home and be safe.
